Back to August!

Thursday, August 30:

Today, is September 23 and I’ve been without Internet for a very long three weeks.  I’m going back quite a bit so it will be a little recap for each day and then as time goes on, I will just give a weekly update as things are settling in now to a somewhat “normal” routine!

Back to Thursday…Furniture allowance was in so we went shopping at Carrefour (similar to Wal-Mart) for appliances.  This took a whopping four hours and there was only 4 of us.  I ended up buying a TV, Stove/Oven, microwave, and a refrigerator.  Martha and I are going to share a combo washer/dryer so we split the price.  I spent about $5,000 AED for all of this (about $1,361 USD…not bad).  Pictures in future blog.

After that, we went to meet up with Martha and Stephanie at El Sombrero.  Still delicious (but by no means Chuy’s)!  I ordered chicken and spinach enchiladas while others tried out the fajitas, nachos, tacos.  All seemed to be impressed.  After that, back to hotel to get some much needed sleep.
