Cook-out In The Desert!

The local man who owns our villas, Mr. Suhail, invited all of us to a cook-out in the desert. Not sure what I expected but I was surprised to say the least. He met us at the villas and we followed him out to the Tilal Liwa Hotel to park our cars. We took Symunek's Jeep because it had 4 wheel drive and she said it would be "fun" to drive in the sand. Lesson learned: Driving in the sand is not easy...you leave it to professionals. After a one car got stuck (not us) and two hours later, we were finally out in the middle of the desert. It was a cool and perfect night! I tried to attempt to climb the sand dune and then Martha and I decided to stop and just sit and take it all in...I started working out after this. Mr. Suhail cooked lamb, chicken and beef kabobs served with humus and Arabic bread. I thought he would have someone else cook for us but he was so kind to sit with us by the BBQ and cook. Mr. Suhail had never seen s'mores and we happen to bring the stuff to make them. We taught him how to make s'mores and he seemed to enjoy them! Definitely an experience I will remember along with all the sand I brought home:) Shukran Mr. Suhail!!!
