2013 Summer at Home...

After Italy, I got on a plane for HOME!  I couldn't wait to see my family.  Living abroad has given me so many amazing opportunities, but there is nothing like coming home to the ones I love!  I got to stay with my family from July 24th until August 27th.  The following are just a few highlights...
HOME!!!  First place after the airport was lunch at Chuy's...my favorite but clearly not my Dad's:)  I always choose Chuy's and he just smiles...thank you Dad!!!

That weekend, I went and stayed at Jeff and Leslie's.  We took Mason to the Children's Museum.  Mason is growing so fast and he is so smart!  I love him more than words can express.  I'm a proud Auntie:)  I can't wait to welcome another nephew in October!  Thanks for a wonderful weekend!

We stopped for a late lunch at Torchy's Tacos and had a cupcake from Crave Cupcakes.

While I was home, we celebrated my Mimi's 93rd birthday.  We had such a good time and I'm extremely lucky to have her in my life.  We talked about my Pap's time in Abu Dhabi and she found some things from those days that she shared with me.  He had written my Mimi a letter from Abu Dhabi and the love he had for her...no words can describe.  I hope to be there to celebrate many more Mimi!

Dad in his tux for Knights of Columbus night...he is SO handsome!!!
Cooper looks pretty adorable too:)

Katie, Marisa and I planned a girl's weekend in New Orleans.  Marisa and I drove into Baton Rouge and ate at Chimes and shopped a bit and then picked up Katie.  I got to see her adorable kids, Ella and Grant!  We left for New Orleans and stayed at Hotel Monteleone.  We had an amazing weekend catching up and having so much fun!

Friday Night: Ate dinner at Mr. B's Bistro and then headed to Bourbon Street for Pat O's!  Bachelor party, Gold Mine and late night snacks made for a crazy night.

Saturday: Spent day by the pool with some Bloody Mary's and walked down to Port of Call.  We had never eaten there and finally made it...worth the wait!  Shopped around the Quarter and then back to hotel to get ready for that night.  We went to Lafitte's for a drink and then walked down Bourbon where we ran into some guys we went to high school with-It was good catching up with y'all!

On August 24th, we had a Bar-B-Q at Jeff and Leslie's.  Leslie's parents, my parents and Joanna stopped by.  It was a really nice day!
Mason absolutely loves my Dad...it is too cute to see them together.  Grampy!

Joanna made some delicious little fruit pizzas...miss you Jo!

Mom, Dad and I went to dinner by the lake for my last night.  Always the hardest part is saying goodbye for another year...

I had an amazing summer at home visiting with all of my family and friends.  Thank you for welcoming me home and showing me a good time...especially the Limoncello night at your house Maris!  It was great seeing all of you!  Until next time...
