One week down!! Well, I made it through the first week! I have to admit is has been so much fun and I am loving this even though there were a few curve balls thrown out:)
After breakfast, Martha, Maria, Cheri, LaRue and I took a cab to the Mushrif Mall. My first cab ride. They were right, the driving was a little crazy. However, we made it and went inside the bank. We had seen a Ladies Only section in another bank but this one didn't seem to have one. We went in to mostly men so we had to be careful how we sat and looked at no one. The banker told us we would need to go to the mall branch about three lights up at the mall to get our debit cards. We walked through the sand, up to the road to try and catch a cab. Nothing! We saw a taxi driver pull up at the bank so we went by the car and asked him to drive us to Mushrif Mall (which we already thought we were at). Taxi's normally don't take five people as it is extremely crowded but he made an exception for us. I guess we looked a little desperate:) We got to Mushrif Mall and it was nice too. I wonder how many malls they have in Abu Dhabi! We got our debit cards with no problem and were told we would need our passports to finalize everything for online banking. We have no passports and don't know when we'll get them back so I hope we can access the money. Still a little confused about this.
We went upstairs to LuLu's which is like a Target. We met Ravi who made a list of everything we wanted delivered to the west. I am buying a refrigerator, stove, microwave, water cooler, washer/dryer combo (more on this later), Keurig type coffee maker, blender, hand mixer, and TV all for $7,000 Dhm, which is about $1906. Not bad for all of that!

First Taxi Ride in Abu Dhabi - it's like a race between them. A friend of mine told me today that she has already been in two accidents in a taxi!

Mushrif Mall
Bathroom inside Mushrif Mall - now this is what I call a squat pot. It is on the floor in the ladies restroom. Haven't used one yet but you can decide how it's used.
Shopping for appliances at LuLu's. The men were very helpful!
After shopping for quite a while, we went back to the hotel around 5:30 and I slept until I got a call around 7:30. It was a nice nap that I continued until 4am. Guess jet lag is still catching up with me! Tomorrow is the medical check and UAE ID. I'll update later:) Good Night!!!
